Getting Started with SoundSync

Set up your product, brand, licensing package, delivery, storefront, and managed checkout, with clear commercial responsibilities.

SoundSync

From account to a tested product

Some steps are optional for products that do not use plugin licensing or managed commerce.

  1. Create the developer account

Confirm your business contact and read the terms and commercial policies.

  2. Set the brand

Configure store name, logos, colors, support and reply-to details. For a custom root domain or subdomain, provide DNS access and follow verification; SoundSync provisions storefront SSL.

  3. Migrate products or start fresh

Product migration is supported: import a public store, product page, or export into drafts. Review USD prices and media, then finish licensing and delivery before publishing.

  4. Create the product and price

Paid products, subscriptions, and bundles sold through SoundSync checkout must be priced at $9.99 or higher after discounts, before tax. Free access uses supported free-claim or external-redemption flows instead.

  5. Configure delivery and licensing

Attach the appropriate files. For licensed plugins, select activation mode, device limits, and offline grace.

  6. Choose the integration

Use HISEScript for the easier script path, HISE C++ for native authority with a source build, the complete JUCE package, or the documented HTTP API for a custom client.

  7. Test customer access

Test activation, validation, deactivation, account/serial paths, offline expiry, and authorized downloads for your product.

  8. Configure the storefront

Review product copy, media, brand, domain, and customer account access.

  9. Test checkout

Confirm USD pricing, discounts, the $9.99 paid-price policy, tax location, enabled payment methods, and resulting customer access. Subscription checkout currently uses Stripe.

  10. Publish and monitor

Review orders, customers, support, statements, usage, and the eligible payout cycle. Marketing requires the applicable consent.

Know the commercial model

SoundSync charges one 10% fee on product revenue after discounts and before tax. Payment processing is included for SoundSync-managed checkout. Marketplace-attributed sales use the same fee, not a second marketplace charge.

SoundSync Solutions is the Merchant of Record for purchases completed through SoundSync-managed checkout. SoundSync handles payment processing and applicable sales-tax/VAT calculation, collection, registration, filing, and remittance for those transactions.

The $10 monthly minimum is a minimum total of SoundSync charges, not a $10 subscription added to every bill. Sale fees, marketing-email charges, redemption overages, and other applicable SoundSync charges count toward it. If those charges total $7, the minimum adjustment is $3; if they total $12, no minimum adjustment is added. Sale fees already deducted from your proceeds are counted toward the minimum, not charged again on the statement. The shortfall is reconciled after the calendar month closes, not added separately to every partial-month statement.

Developer, affiliate, and collaborator payouts are available twice monthly, on the 1st and 15th of each month, on the same schedule. Each payout covers eligible earnings from the previous period, plus any older unpaid eligible balance, after a minimum 14-day hold. Funds still within the hold carry forward to the next eligible payout date; unresolved adjustments and account restrictions can affect eligibility. Developer payouts use Stripe Connect in USD. The scheduled date is the payment-initiation date, not a guarantee of arrival in a bank or payment account.

Stripe and PayPal checkout proceeds are held in a dedicated business account used only for developer, affiliate, and collaborator payouts, not business expenses. This is not an escrow or deposit-protection claim. Unresolved refunds, disputes, account restrictions, or destination checks can hold the affected balance.

Set a price, not a pay-what-you-want amount

SoundSync does not support pay-what-you-want pricing. Set the product or offer price yourself; customers cannot choose an arbitrary purchase amount. Paid products, subscriptions, and bundles must remain at $9.99 or higher after discounts, before tax. Supported free offers use the separate free-claim flow.

Pay with PayPal or Stripe, in USD

PayPal is accepted at SoundSync checkout for one-time purchases. Stripe supports card payments and available wallets. Subscription checkout currently uses Stripe, not PayPal.

SoundSync supports USD only currently. Products are priced and checkout charges are presented in US dollars; a payment provider's conversion into a buyer's account currency does not make checkout multi-currency.

If live payout setup needs approval

The workspace owner starts or resumes Stripe Connect onboarding. Other team roles, including Administrators and Billing users, cannot open a new onboarding link for the owner. Their permitted balance, statement and payout-status reporting remains available. If you receive developer_team_owner_required, ask the workspace owner to complete setup; changing the requested environment does not grant access.

Live Stripe Connect setup currently requires account approval. If setup or status refresh returns LIVE_CONNECT_DEVELOPER_NOT_ALLOWLISTED, contact SoundSync support with your developer account reference to request review. Do not repeatedly create test accounts or change the environment to work around this restriction. Live checkout availability and live payout onboarding are separate checks.

After approval, finish the available Stripe Connect requirements and inspect the saved live payout status. A connected destination, a status refresh or a scheduled run is not confirmation of bank receipt. This setup requirement does not change the twice-monthly schedule or the minimum 14-day hold.
