Diagnose credentials, identity, entitlement, devices, and transport separately.

Failure categories
| Category | What to check |
|---|---|
| Product authentication | Correct product/app identity and credential contract |
| Customer identity | Sign-in, owner email proof, and verification completion |
| Entitlement | The customer owns the requested product under its current access policy |
| Device | Stable machine identity and activation allowance |
| Transport | Timeout, connection failure, and rate-limit retry instructions |
| Package installation | Correct variant, source/build integration, and audio guard |
Do not hide a rejection
Show safe actionable errors without exposing full serials or account tokens. A known ownership mismatch should not be retried with an invented email. A confirmed invalid state should not enter offline grace.
Keep support logs scoped to the operation, version, product, and safe code. The exact response envelope belongs to the endpoint contract; not every API family returns the same JSON keys.
Package-specific access policy
JUCE 0.7.3 supports signed offline access for the grace period selected in product Access settings, through 90 days. A prior successful activation or validation and the matching package verification keys are required. Startup uses a verified unexpired grant or online authorization. Zero, disabled, missing or expired grace requires online authorization; confirmed denial or deactivation locks access. Regenerate and rebuild older plugins to use this release.
