Subscription-Aware Licensing
Recurring payment state and product access need separate checks.
Access follows the relevant recurring entitlement
Use the supported subscription record, access period, and product entitlement when validating. A subscription shown in a library is not automatically proof of valid access on every device.
Cancellation, scheduled plan changes, failed payment, renewal, refunds, and expired access are different transitions. Test the particular package and checkout lifecycle rather than deriving plugin behavior from a billing label.
Verify the customer journey
Exercise the supported library and billing controls, then check the actual plugin after access changes. Subscription bundles are not ordinary permanent product bundles. Manual billing setup must not be treated as permission to charge without the supported confirmation flow.
JUCE 0.7.3 supports signed offline access for the grace period selected in product Access settings, through 90 days. A prior successful activation or validation and the matching package verification keys are required. Startup uses a verified unexpired grant or online authorization. Zero, disabled, missing or expired grace requires online authorization; confirmed denial or deactivation locks access. Regenerate and rebuild older plugins to use this release.
Validate access after renewal or recovery
An unpaid renewal has a 14-day recovery window. At an unresolved rental deadline, the license is suspended while the subscription and billing continue. Reconciliation of all outstanding payments is required for restoration; a newer paid invoice does not clear older arrears. A keep-your-products plan can end while products already earned from unreversed qualifying payments remain owned. Read the returned product entitlement rather than locking every owned product because one subscription has a payment issue.
Billing recovery and offline permission are different. JUCE 0.7.3 uses verified signed offline grace or successful online renewal at startup. HISEScript grace needs prior valid access within its allowed expiry; a confirmed denial never becomes offline-valid. Native HISE follows the generated native contract.
