Entitlement and Download Walkthrough

  1. File preparation

Finish upload verification and attachment to the correct product.

  2. Customer

Use an identity entitled to this product.

  3. Authorization

Request delivery through the documented customer path.

  4. Download

Use the returned permitted link; do not publish signed URLs.

  5. Negative test

Check an unowned product and expired/unauthorized delivery.

  6. Support

Provide safe product/file/order context, not storage secrets.

Finish storage verification before testing delivery

Upload or import the file privately, wait for verification, and attach it to the correct product/version. Each private file can be up to 10 GB. An incomplete multipart upload, an artwork upload, or a public audio demo is not a private customer installer.

Use the documented customer library/download credential for the delivery request. A developer account token or a product key by itself is not permission to download as a customer. Choose a known entitled account and the actual file index returned for that product.

Treat the signed URL as temporary access

The authorized delivery operation redirects to a short-lived signed file URL. Follow that redirect in the client rather than expecting the API response to contain the installer bytes or a permanent public location. Do not store that URL as the product manual or publish it in a forum.

Repeat authorization after expiry instead of modifying a signature. Test an unentitled account and the wrong product/file identity: neither should expose private storage. If the file is missing, first check upload completion, attachment, product ownership, and the customer entitlement before issuing replacement access.

Test safely

Use permitted test identities and the intended environment. Inspect allowed and rejected outcomes. Keep private customer data, serials, credentials, payment details, and verification links out of published examples.
